Slumber Party Question Response
Hi Kmaj!
I don't have a nail polish recipe, but I do have this homemade spa recipe that we did at a girls night chocolate theme party. The girls had fun making it and we put it in pretty jars when it was done so they could take it home.
Chocolate Body Scrub Recipe3/8 cup brown sugar
1/8 cup olive oil
1/4 tbsp cocoa powder
1/16 tsp vanilla extract
Mix oil into brown sugar. Blend in cocoa and extract. Mix well.
This body scrub makes a great exfoliater and moisturizer when massaged gently onto the body. Please DO NOT use it on your face.
Optional: Put your creations in pretty jars and use them as favors.
Ideas for Creating Temporary Tattoos at Home
IMPORTANT NOTE: Always ensure items you use to make your tattoos are non-toxic and that you check in to see if there any skin allergies party attenders might have. Play Safe!
All set? Here are 11 ideas on how to make non-permanent tattoos at home using different methods and materials. Most can be done with things you already have at home.
1. Eyeliner TattoosUse a fine-tip liquid eyeliner to draw designs directly onto your skin. Seal the design with hairspray or setting spray to make it last longer.
2. Stencil and Makeup TattoosCreate or buy a stencil of a tattoo design you like. Hold the stencil firmly against your skin and use a makeup sponge to apply eyeshadow or body glitter over it. So cute!
3. Sharpie and Baby Powder TattoosDraw your tattoo with a Sharpie marker on clean skin. Once dry, dust baby powder over it and seal it with hairspray to set the ink.
4. Printed Tattoo Paper MethodDesign your tattoos on a computer and print them onto special tattoo transfer paper. Apply to the skin using water, just like store-bought temporary tattoos. Imagine how creative you can be with this.
5. Watercolor Paint TattoosUse watercolor paints to paint designs directly onto your skin. These wash off easily, but can look vibrant and beautiful for as long as they last.
6. Pen and Pencil TattoosSketch a design onto your skin using a non-toxic pen or a makeup pencil. This method is great for simple designs like flowers, hearts, and words and washes off easily.
7. Lipstick Transfer TattoosApply a thick layer of lipstick to your skin.
Place a piece of plastic wrap over it, and then a paper design on top.
Apply heat with a hair dryer, then peel away the layers to reveal the transfer (tattoo).
8. Henna TattoosMix natural henna powder with lemon juice and sugar to create a paste.
Apply it to your skin using a cone or brush.
Allow it to dry and leave it on for several hours for a natural tattoo that can last up to a few weeks.
9. Stickers and Gel Pen TattoosDraw designs on adhesive paper using gel pens.
Cut out the design, remove the backing, and stick it to your skin.
10. Glitter TattoosApply a skin-safe adhesive in the shape of your design.
Sprinkle body-safe glitter over the adhesive.
Brush away excess glitter and enjoy a sparkly temporary tattoo.
Side Note: Make sure your mom is good with glitter in the house first. It can e a challenge to clean up.
11. Face Paint TattoosFace/body paint (the type they use for face painting at fairs and parades) could be a great option. There are so many cool types and colors to choose from. These paints are especially easy to get around Halloween for a good price.
Game Ideas for a Spa Theme Slumber Party
One pretty fun makeover game is to have two people each sit on a chair and then blindfold two others. On your go each blindfolded person has to do the makeup of one of the girls sitting in a chair. It can be quite funny.
There are beauty and model trivia games at
