Stock the Bar Scavenger Hunt
I am throwing a Jack and Jill party at my house. It is "Stock the Bar" theme. I want to do a neighborhood scavenger hunt and am looking for a list of things for my guests to collect. I will have teams of 4 and they will have 1/2 hour to collect as much as possible.
I would be interested in doing an item hunt, but would also like ideas for a signature hunt. Can you help please? I think some crazy things would be fun too. It's going to be a fun, and probably a little bit tipsy group of people!
Thank you!
Reply: There are a few ideas you could try. Hopefully you live in a friendly neighborhood if you think your guests may be a little tipsy when they go out door-to-door.
Scavenger Hunt Idea #1
Since you are hosting a "Stock the Bar" party -- shower, why not follow theme for the item list for your neighborhood scavenger hunt. Include items needed to create various drinks.
List Ideas- Lemon
- Stir Stick
- Olive
- Coarse Salt
- Can of Coke or 7-Up
- Cherry
- Cork
- Celery Stalk
- Tomato Juice
- Cloves
- Egg
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Shot Glass
- Wine Glass
- Bottle Opener
- Corkscrew
You may even want to get the teams to bring back caps for as many different types of alcoholic beverages as possible (eg. Brandy, Gin, Vodka) and award points accordingly.
Scavenger Hunt Idea #2
An easy idea for your neighborhood scavenger hunt would be the one up trade type hunt.
Give each team a small insignificant item. They must then go to the first house and try and trade it for something better. If they can, they go to the next house and try and trade their newest acquisition for something even better. A great salesperson or story teller can do quite well at convincing individuals to make a trade that benefits the team. This continues as time allots.
The team that returns with the most valuable item (or the largest, or, or...) wins.
Scavenger Hunt Idea #3
A signature hunt is more tricky as you have to go on the honor of the participants or send someone to verify the validity of the signatures. Since this is just for fun, it probably doesn't matter that much.
List Ideas- Someone who went polar dipping after too much alcohol
- Someone who threw up the first time they drank
- Someone who created their own signature drink
- Someone who can share an effective home remedy for a hangover
- Someone who did not serve alcohol at their wedding
- Someone who works at a bar
- Someone who can recite a tongue twister like...
If you stick a stock of liquor in your locker,
It’s slick to stick a lock upon your stock,
Or some stickler who is slicker
Will stick you of your liquor
If you fail to lock your liquor
With a lock!
The following game may inspire you with some list ideas also, or you just might want to add it to the activities of your evening.
